I'm currently a Junior at the University of Michigan in the School of Information. I'm from Westchester, New York, and going to school in the Midwest always makes me appreciate my first slice of pizza when I get off the plane. I love understanding the specific ways in which products are designed, and so I was introduced to Don Norman's, The Design of Everyday Things. This book exposed me to the world of user experience, and since then, I have become passionate to build empathetic products of my own.
I'm a soccer fan (Let's go Man City!) and Michigan fan (Go Blue!), and I love going to all live sporting events. My dream is to see El Clásico live one day.
As a freshman, I arrived on Michigan's campus eager to apply to the School of Information. This program is only offered during Junior and Senior years, and so I spent my first two years in the Liberal Arts school taking a wide variety of classes. This is my first semester in the School of Information, and so my classes are specifically tailored towards UX.
I've always had a passion for technology, and I want to help people interact with the world through better user experiences. I found UX as the perfect way to combine my technical skills with my love for interacting with people. I believe UX requires a strong sense of empathy to fully understand different users, and there is no better way to practice empathy than by talking to people. Because of this, I will be studying abroad at IE University in Madrid starting January 2020, where I plan to immerse myself fully and become fluent in Spanish. By being exposed to different cultures, it allows me to understand the world through unique perspectives and ideas.
I'm always looking to connect with new people.
